Disability Rights & Inclusivity Awareness
At Bicharan Kallyan Sangstha, we are deeply committed to ensuring that sustainable development encompasses all members of society, particularly individuals living with disabilities. In Bangladesh, around 10% of the population experiences some form of disability, making it crucial to embed disability inclusion across all development efforts.
As part of our mission, Bicharan guarantees that at least 10% of participants in all programs are individuals with disabilities, while 3% of our workforce consists of persons with disabilities. This initiative underscores our dedication to fostering a disability-friendly environment where everyone has the opportunity to contribute and thrive.
Our infrastructure is designed with accessibility in mind, ensuring that facilities and services accommodate the needs of people with disabilities. Our inclusion programs prioritize access to education, employment, and support services, empowering individuals with disabilities to lead meaningful, active lives. To date, we have successfully raised disability rights and inclusion awareness among 17,800 individuals.
By 2028, our strategic plan aims to mainstream and empower at least 5,000 individuals with disabilities, creating a society where equity, inclusivity, and accessibility are foundational principles. This vision aligns with our broader goal of promoting a society that leaves no one behind, driving towards a more inclusive, sustainable future.
This strategic approach reflects our firm belief in the rights of all individuals to participate fully in society, with dignity and respect.
