Sewing Machine Distribution

In Bangladesh, sewing has traditionally been a skill possessed by many women. However, the rise of the Ready-Made Garment (RMG) industry has created a significant demand for skilled workers, with approximately 80% of RMG workers being women. Unfortunately, not all women can transition into this industry due to financial constraints, urgent needs, and prevailing social contexts.

Recognizing this gap, Bicharan Kallyan Sangstha has taken proactive measures to empower vulnerable women by distributing sewing machines. This initiative not only provides the necessary tools for self-employment but also includes training on market networking, enabling these women to connect with potential clients and improve their livelihoods.

To date, 450 sewing machines have been distributed, positively impacting the lives of 2,250 individuals. Through this initiative, Bicharan is committed to fostering economic independence among women, helping them overcome barriers and thrive in their communities.
