Educational Institution

Education is undeniably the backbone of a nation’s development, yet in Bangladesh, the accessibility and quality of education differ significantly between urban and rural areas. While education in urban centers is more accessible and widely supported by resources, rural communities—particularly underprivileged populations—face substantial barriers. These challenges include the distance to educational institutions, resource scarcity, and the pressure for children to engage in labor to support their families, which parents often perceive as more immediately beneficial than schooling.

The literacy rate in urban areas stands at 84%, compared to 74.6% in rural regions, where dropout rates are also notably higher. In response to these disparities, Bicharan Kallyan Sangstha has initiated efforts to bridge the educational gap by constructing 7 schools, including 2 religious schools, specifically targeting underprivileged children in rural settings. These schools offer an accessible opportunity for education, reducing the logistical and economic challenges faced by rural families.

Thanks to these initiatives, approximately 2,300 children from disadvantaged backgrounds now have access to formal education, enabling them to pursue opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach. Bicharan’s focus on education is not only about providing academic learning but also about empowering future generations to break the cycle of poverty and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

By addressing educational inequality, Bicharan Kallyan Sangstha is making a significant impact on the lives of rural children and fostering long-term societal change.
